     first issue is when i try to register my product it says the device password is wrong
    secound just got the latest update tool from the site and now it says it cant connect to the internet

     I don't believe you register the code scanner . You install the Maxi Link 2 CD on a Windows PC ,  You choose the proper platform you have from the program and find the downloaded update for your platform and you saved earlier to your PC desktop location and update the code scanner with provided cable from your PC using the Maxi Link 2 program
