I've had someone ask me to do a new key for their car, its a 2013 Volvo V60, Ive used my machine to program several keys in the past, some with success, some with failure, the biggest failure being a Corsa D 2010 where it actually put the car into anti theft mode and no key would start it, not even the existing key.

Do autel do a data list of cars supported for key coding on their machines?

    Any help would be appreciated
    Jim

I don't think it can do the Volvo keys..........but, as for your Corsa D you should send them the log files to see what the problem is........

Hi Jim,have you updated your tool lately?I've just coughed up £360 to update my
ms906 and there's a few more immo/key options popped up now!Autel have also
added more updates for key programming, even since my major update a month ago.

If you don't mind me asking how did things work out eventually with the corsa?I think it would be a great idea for us all to start a thread to report back what keys people have managed to program?I done my vectra 2.2 DTI,2002 model key no problem.

I had the immo code in the documents for my car,it was on a credit card sized card in
the wallet that came with the car.I'm not sure if it will extract pin itself.I just bought a
Lonsdor k518 and that extracts the pin.

How would you compare Lonsdor k518 vs X100 PAD2.............?

I've read comparisons of both tools,Lonsdor usually wins.I got the Lonsdor k5I8SE full
package. It's a lot more flexible than the xtool, especially the fact the lonsdor has the
hole in it for reading key fobs etc, plus there's lots of options if you have no keys!,my
full package came with blank key fobs you can extract pin codes onto you've just
extracted from the car, then just start copying keys!!
Plus it comes with adapters for connecting to the circuit boards in many Volvos,to
    extract information.
The Lonsdor was expensive, but the times I've used it so far it has been quick and
    efficient!!

I updated my ms906 about a month ago.New immo and key functions appeared.I just
looked under Volvo v60 2013 and there's an immo and keys section under 'hot
    functions'

Wonder how well that will work....

Autel has their IM608, and even that is not a 100% fail proof system even though dedicated to keys / immo (although some diagnostics can be done, I use the Elite over it any day).

Have done several more difficult keys with it with succes, but Opel/Vauxhall and Peugeot did give me troubles. Volvo on the other hand should be no sweat for the IM608 system. It is however a league ahead on X-Tools and Lonsdor if the specialists are to be believed. Difference in price comes with that as well however.

I'm not sure Autel will be full head on with key programming on the Elite and other systems now they have a high end tool for this. Just like TPMS, you can do stuff, but not close to the specialised tools.
