Hi. I have 608 key programmer and trying to add new key to a BMW 525i 2001.  Do I have to take out the EWS module from the car in order to read it and than program it to new key or it can be done without taking it out? Thanks

Seems to me that instruction on the screen sounds  confusing and vague , plus it is still a Hit or miss proposition  Hero or Zero kinda tool IMO. Autel should allow folks with the newer Elites and 64GB platforms to add the IM508 software App to their tools for a couple hundred bucks and buy a separate XP400.
A guy with an old  2002 M class Mercedes couldn't even add another blade key at this time with an IM608.

I have an IM508 and an XP400 and looking into this , and it appears that other than remote learning , the EWS module will need to be removed and , adding key, all keys lost , or read password, has to be done on the bench, so it is not one that can be done by OBD

Hoping you can help. I have to do a 2000 325i tomorrow night and its e46 EWS. Will the
Apa001 cable coupled with XP200 dump the EWS and write the new key? If you check
function viewer it says it should!
