1 cannot see audi and volks wagen models on ml629 to select one. what is wrong?? or ho is the fail???

2 i connect the scanner in car obd2 connector and cant communicate wit ecu (audi a4 b5 8d2 1.6 ahl 1994-2001)--

iselect of the menu after ml629 initialize in europe cars audi engine control module1 ,weight for connection but nothing the error message is the follow -no communication between the tester and control unit- all is correct connected -switch is on-battery ok-only for the number 4 i'm not sure if the system is configured for the vehicle-the audi a4 connector is in the car rear of  the hand brake (model 1996 and after??) 

 only the abs ecu read correct the abs ecu is defective,that i checked with other scanner is faulty-
