Will my MP808 scanner read all systems on old benz with 38 pin socket??

     I have an old SLK here with only the 38 pin socket. I bought a cheap ebay adapter to connect my MP808 to the socket and it only reads the engine data. Since doing research, I now know its because the cheap leap only has 3 pins wired! My question is.......if I buy the Autel 38 pin Benz adapter, will it allow me to read all systems on this old SLK?

    I believe it will as the cheaper leads may not have all pins connected where as the autel
    one should. I had the same issue years ago with a different tool. What year is your
    SLK?

     Thanks for your reply! It's a 98 model. 
    It seems Autel only sell the adapter as part of a set, I just didn't want to spend £120 without being reasonably sure it would work as some people say that Mercedes used a different "language" to communicate on the old models and no scanner will work other than Star.....but I find that unlikely! Thanks for your help!
