2001 Ford Mustang Gt I have a IM608 and didn’t have any options to reprogram the pcm. Customer bought used pcm from junk yard. I can communicate with pcm but it will not auto scan I have to put in manually. I can access pats and let me erase keys but not relearn I believe the pcm needs programmed can I do this with my IM608? I was trying to do parameters reset and it wouldn’t work with pcm.

I program the used PCM with the Jbox first then do a parameter reset and program
keys. You MUST have 2 keys to program to get the car running.
I never installed a used PCM without programming because there are too many little
things that are not the same from car to car. The axle gear ratios are most likely
different not to mention if they have the same trans and engine!

Hello thanks for reply. Do you program the PCM with the autel unit or OEM software? Or do you program on bench? Anyway customer purchased a pcm from a 1999-2000 Ford Mustang and the part numbers don’t match but the modules are physically identical. I’m not sure if this  module will work on a 01. I could only access the pcm manually and it wasn’t communicating properly with the instrument cluster theft detected pcm disabled. So I’m not sure if the pcm can be programmed properly to the 01.

Hello thanks for the reply I am trying to figure out if the autel unit can reprogram the pcm on its own I have the as built data. I just don’t want to purchase liscence but if I have to I will. I have reprogrammed other modules without original module.

The only way that IS know of is using the Jbox and subscribe to MotorCraft.
