My recommendation would be to remove and re-add the account on the device.
You didn't state which e-mail domain you were using. Your device might be using SMTP for sending messages and IMAP for receiving messages. The network port for that may need to be reconfigured if the version of the e-mail client on the device is different from what it was before when you sent it in for repairs.
