I am working on a jeep with an ABS light on. I know that the Chrysler adapter is needed. So I purchased one. I put the adapter on. For some reason I get an error that it can't connect. So it gives you all the reasons to look for why it may be preventing it. From using the correct adapter to not using the bluetooth and connecting it hardwire. I have done it both ways and I am using the correct adapter which I bought the whole kit. That has the Chrysler adapter that covers vehicles 1996-2002. So with that being said. Am I missing something? Everything is updated.

Hi,you are talking about a car that is still obd1 ,you need a older scanner like a snap on
solis pro , or a snap on mt2500 for older USA cars, than you can with the Chrysler
adapter read all the abs codes and read live data to see what is wrong.you can not use
    a modern scanner for this.

Hi, I could give you some tips you can check on the jeep, most older cars have abs
problems caused by internal broken wires from the front wheels to the abs sensor.
Because of the frequent turning of the wheels left to right, older hardened wires will
break than,it is difficult to see.

thank you for that tip. I would have never thought that would be an issue as it should have been looked at by Chrysler engineers.

so I tried a snap on solis pro and it still wouldn't allow access to the abs functions. So that is a dead end so far

Hi, I own a older solus pro and also several mt2500 ,I never had problems reading the
abs modules ,maybe there is something wrong in the jeep, nevertheless you can still
check the wires and the fuses and try a erase of the abs codes ,you could try a deep
reset.( disconnect the battery cables for a while)or when driving on a silent straight
road turn off ignition after putting gear in neutral ,than while still driving restart the car
than the abs light will go off when everything is normal.

Hi, I have checked something for you maybe this is helpful. The only scanner you can
choose abs is a. mt2500 with the Chrysler 2 connector , your car must have a S for the
year in its VIN and its connection is in the cars interior, not under the hood.

Hi, something more ,if your VIN has a T than this car has obd2 connector and should
be read by any modern scanner.
