After upgrading from ms905 to ms908p, it turns out that programing via the main unit is not an option anymore. It has to be done via a laptop, interfaced with the J box. Do you think Autel might sometime soon revert to what the ma908p was originally made for, and return the programing option? We can't even code new vin numbers on GM vehicles anymore ( the simplest tasks are not available).Tags: PRO

You must have pretty old software on the 905
To have that software again, the network tree and all

programming/flashing thru the 905 has never been available, only the 908p and elite has that function. gm on line programming was available on the 908p for a short time then removed, who knows why, now only available thru a laptop with a tis2web sub and a passthru device , however programming/flashing/coding is available on your 908p for Mercedes, bmw, vw and audi at the moment and upcoming ford after 08 according to autel. will gm be brought back? who knows maybe, but don't hold you breath. -

Thanks for the reply. I meant that i updated the 905 unit for a new 908p unit. it turned out there is no more programing options in it ( for jeeps and GM, which are my main concern). Who knows why as you said. I guess the only way is the use the OEM site, via a laptop and a pass through. For example, if the engine module was replaced on a jeep, i can not adapt it with the VIN, etc.I hope Autel will return that option in the near future.
