After I registered the unit, I tried to reset the oil life with it. The unit recognized the VCI and liked up, I am able to read codes with no problems but it will not erase them. I get the message, Device is unable to communicate with the control unit.This message is the same if I try to reset the oil life as well.I am wondering if I need to buy a subscription or did the first year come with the purchase? -

Hi, you do not have to buy a subscription when this device is new and now registered
on your name ,beside this the device should work normal, the message you get could
mean that this car has sgw( secure gateway) if so, you need to get autoauth on your
device or buy token from the dealer of that brand you are working on, after this you
can do resets.
