I was having the same issue...and actually had to do three things to fix it:
1. My Router has built in Firewall settings...and I had to drop it down to Low security to get the packets to pass.
2. Once I did that...the "can't connect to the server..." issue became an incorrect ID/password issue...so I knew I was getting closer. I then went onto Auteltech, logged in, and reset my password to something a little less complex. Note: I had this happen on another site where it would allow a more complex password, but the "app" for it would not.
3. Make sure you download the latest version of the Update Suite...and not use the CD that came with the MD802..as it's a much older version. While I can't be certain...I feel this could have also contributed to the problem.
