Auto ranging constantly jumping from 0-2 volts, then to  0-5 volt range or higher is pretty Sucky on a DS708.I don't have a Maxi Sys yet to see if you can select it to hold a specific voltage and time range you want it to hold.
  Also a feature if you select a certain  PID to graph you could have the option of having the other half of the screen dedicated to the oscilloscope pattern taken directly at the component side simultaneously in the same time and volt range as the pid that the PCM sees to verify they agree. If the feature can't be combined with the optional oscilloscope, add a couple DVOM ports to the tool , and have external DVOM always available on the selectable Pid list
