I bought my MS908P used with some months of updates remaining and it updated and worked just fine during the update period and another 6months afterwards before it developed an issue of the Maxi Sys App closing down and going to the Android home screen. My unit was originally purchased from an Authorized USA vendor (Advance Auto) so I was able to call with and get assistance from Autel USA (with serial number and register pass word. I had a guy remote in to see what the my unit was doing and was told I would need to purchase an update to fix it. I believe they changed registration to my name before I decided to ante up and purchase a Total Care Update.
