maxiflash elite update problem stuck at 2.17

     Trying to update maxiflash-elite from 2.17 to 2.20.
    Scan tool downloads and appears to flash saying complete but j2534 remains at 2.17?

      Out of curiosity I removed the main cable or aldl cable from the j2534 and low and behold it now reports that it did indeed update.
    I guess that it is meant to be module only connected for updating?
