    every once in a while when i hook up my scanner to a vehicle it wont power up, but I can use one of my other scanners and they power up okay. I have all of the most recent updates installed.

    You need an external obd power source like the GBox2, godiag GT105, or any other at OBD pass through with a 12 volt dc input, but definitely also check fuses
