Thanks so much, I just got this DS708 so getting acquainted with it and deciding whether to keep this scanner or not

So if I understand this correctly,..

1.)   I can go ahead and do all the Make and software updates first to get my DS708 to spec.

2.)   Delete all  "car_new.bmp" in the Make folder, that will get the all the original OEM icons back (correct?)  Will the generic icons come back if I do future updates?

3.)  I'm also reading that doing these updates you may lose certain functionalities depending on Make and Vehicle?  It says to make backups to "roll back" if there was an update /function that was lost during the upgrade..  I'm not sure why and how....

4.)  What is your opinion of this device?  I am reading many unhappy stories about this scanner
