To use a maxi sys scope is very easy and keep a few numbers in mind and you will never need to use any presets the first numbers to remember are one and one 1 volt full-scale one second time base this is used for most oxygen sensors. The second setting is 50 to 100 volts full-scale and 10 milliseconds time base this will get most of your digital sensors / actustors and the only adjustment to that would be to change the voltage scale down to 20 volts or maybe 5 volts and you will capture every signal in the automotive environment that you need including canbus. A trigger will be necessary to be set for faster signals such as crankshaft position sensors or mass air flow sensors with digital signals so that you can freeze that waveform.
