Wouldn't surprise me with all the global outsourcing and palm greasing these days that Autel is already in bed with some OE companys and other aftermarket scanner companies making component  parts and boards for their scanners , and for getting the hardware business it  agreed to gradually par down the software capability so the competition can still be competition.

i dont think you are far wrong there.....

i don't think autel have fixed diddly in the last year apart from rip the heart out of what was a great scanner.... it says something when i find many of the cheap under $100 OE clones etc are far better than a $3000 supposedly super professional scanner/programmer...

and do you know the worst of all is the lies "we are improving" streamlining" updating" all lies......

i for one will not be giving them one penny until they sort this crap out

Well , one scenario maybe some OE car makers in the last couple years actually invited some Autel Engineers to their  car factories and demonstrated to them that they could easily code into their vehicles automobile processors recognition  ability to identify the brand of diagnostic equipment hooked up to the vehicle , and the quality of communication and cooperation between the car any  company scanner can vary between excellent or non existent, depending on whether aftermarket scanner company wishes to play ball with us or not. I think it would be in your very best interest to start taking out somethings we don't want to see your scanners capable of doing at this time, however we understand you will need a few years to , shall we say , streamline things and if the green light is go for the new plant in the neighboring province in 18months , we will need some new software application testers  and your names will be put  at the top of the list for the openings .

I am new here. But for me DS708 can support older cars better, 908 is excellent for newer cars diagnosis. To be fair, you can't request a omnipotent tool, which can do all the functions. Each tool has its own weakness and strengths.

Yeah that should work about the 2005 Grand Cheerokee pick one year newer and the wrong model for scanner functionality. Brother if that's true are we suppose to guess at years and models whenever we communicate with vehicle. This is why data-logs sent haven't really produced solutions only more questions about what's going on. Maybe we should have a known issues and work a rounds section of this forum confirmed by support to work that we could reference easily to save time and aggravation.

they started to delete old cars on the ds708 not long after they brought it out a few years back simply because the memory card could not hold all the info then i started to make backups...and still have them

perhaps some of have not had the DS908 maxisys long (you wont know what you have never had) compared to 2 years ago it is absolute sh*t  thing that were there are missing and worst of all things that are there don't always work..

there is no excuse for deleting older cars they have the protocols /data etc why not just leave it there it only takes a few m/b of space and memory is so cheap nowadays..

Support was a 2005 jeep Cherokee i selected various models and types for that year but it would only manually detect ABS whatever i tried..

    3. vin read failed 2002 jeep cherokee
--> It is normal that some old vehicles can't support to read VIN from OBD. If it can be read from DS708,could you please let me know your entry path? Or it read the VIN from any other module? As we know, there is no such menu in DS708.
