This was my first key programming failure with Maxidas DS708. 2012 Ram 1500 that has lost all keys. Bought a brand new,virgin key from Chrysler, got the correct PIN code (verified with 2 sources), and while trying to program always get the "invalid PIN" message. The red security lamp flashes continuously. I verified that all modules had the correct VIN and matched VIN on dash and door.

   I ran an all DTC check and tried a quick erase. Battery voltage is good. Many colleagues of mine have reported this issue on Chrysler, but after dozens this is my first issue. My last update was in Oct 2013.

 I purchased the 1 year total care package for 700$. I was told it'd solve my issue. It did not. I tried several things,including  1 hr KOEO in case the WCM was locked,disconnecting battery and draining caps by connecting cables together and retry...NADA.
   a colleague showed up with a Starmobile and got it running using my PIN,so I know it is a tooling/software issue on the DS708. Hopefully my next key programmings will go smoother as they used to.

 It is a 1 year update package that also warranties your hardware (the scantool itself) during that 1 year period. there is a slight shipping`handling fee but it's a lot less than buying a new scanner.
   Any official licensed reseller will have this, usually the ones that sold you the tool. AESwave is a great service provider.
